MIDTOWN EAST — An ice pick-toting man dressed like a Christmas elf threatened a woman early on Saturday morning, following her from the 59th Street station onto an N train, according to police.

The 29-year-old victim first noticed the man, who stood about 5-feet-3 and was decked out in brightly colored, Christmas-themed clothes, as she entered the East 59th Street/Lexington Avenue subway station just after midnight on Saturday, police said.

As she went through the turnstile she spotted him smoking a cigarette nearby and, as she headed to the train, he followed her while clutching an ice pick in his hand, according to a police report.

Both got on a southbound N train in different cars but, after the train pulled out of the station, the man walked into her car, police said.

The woman exited the train at the Times Square station but was able to take a photo of her stalker before she left, according to the police report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
