14-Year-Old Boy Dies Leaping From Moving Train Onto Platform, Police Say

BROOKLYN — A 14-year-old boy died when he tried to leap from between two L train cars onto an East New York platform Wednesday night, NYPD officials said.

The boy, whose name wasn't immediately released, was standing between subway cars when he leapt in the New Lots Avenue station, near Van Sinderen Avenue, about 10:30 p.m., police said. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His cause of death was not immediately clear.
