Masked Home Invaders Shoot 2 Men in WaHi, NYPD Says

By Aidan Gardiner | November 8, 2016 11:53am

MANHATTAN — Masked intruders shot two men after breaking into their Washington Heights apartment early Tuesday, NYPD officials said.

The victims, 28 and 27, were in a third-floor apartment on West 188th Street, near Amsterdam Avenue, when three men broke in about 12:40 a.m. and started firing, police said.

The 28-year-old was hit in the chest while the 27-year-old was hit in the leg and hand, police said.

They were both listed in stable condition at Harlem Hospital, police said.

The suspects fled without stealing anything, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting may have been drug related because the victims had some marijuana and pills in the apartment, officials said. It wasn't immediately clear how much they had.

The shooting victims weren't immediately arrested and it was unclear whether they would be charged with anything in connection to the drugs, police said.
