STAPLETON — A reputed gang member was arrested after police found heroin stamped "Good Luck" and "Kind in Red" in his home, prosecutors said.
Tryon Varra-Pittman, 37, who is suspected of being a member of the Blood gang, was arrested Friday after police found 123 plastic baggies of heroin inside his Staten Island home while executing a search warrant, according to his criminal complaint.
Officers got the warrant after spotting Varra-Pittman selling heroin outside his Broad Street home on Oct. 7. They carried out the search on Oct. 18, prosecutors said.
Varra-Pittman tossed the envelops out of his window when officers entered, authorities said.
He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
His bail was set at $25,000 and he's due back in court on Nov. 2, according to online court records.
Varra-Pittman's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
