MARINERS HARBOR — A man swiped a cellphone from a passenger sleeping on a Staten Island bus, police said.

The 41-year-old male victim was asleep on the S46 bus on Aug. 28 when the suspect walked up to him and stole his phone at 3:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

The suspect then got off the bus at the Brabant Street and Lockman Avenue stop.

It's unknown why police waited several months to release details of the incident.

Police described the suspect as being between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot 10 and he was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and du-rag.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
