BROOKLYN — A man was randomly shot in the gut by a stranger who'd been following him through Bedford-Stuyvesant Friday night, police said.
The man, 39, had been out walking when he noticed the suspect trailing him and confronted him near Tompkins and Myrtle avenues about 8:15 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.
The suspect pulled a gun and shot him in the stomach before fleeing the scene, the spokesman said.
The victim was listed in stable condition at an area hospital, police said.
The shooter, who weighs roughly 230 pounds and stands about 5-foot-9, hadn't been arrested as of Monday morning, police said.
He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with military-style pants, police said.
