LOWER EAST SIDE — A robber who stole jewelry from a man after his accomplice shot in the leg was caught on surveillance footage, police said.

The 31-year-old victim was shot in the left leg after he tried to run from an armed man in a Metallica T-shirt and his partner outside 146 Essex St. around 3:25 a.m. on Aug. 9, police said.

When the victim fell to the ground, the partner, also wearing a patterned T-shirt, demanded the victim's jewelry, grabbed it and fled, police said.

The two suspects then got into a red BMW with their loot and fled northbound on Essex Street, according to the NYPD.

The victim was removed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police said. The suspects have not been apprehended and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
