Parades and Festivals to Close Multiple Streets on Labor Day Weekend

MIDTOWN — Parades, festivals and other events will lead to tons of street closures in the city over Labor Day Weekend, the city announced.

The holiday weekend's events also mean subway service changes, so commuters should plan accordingly. 

Here is the breakdown of street closures per borough in ManhattanBrooklyn and Queens

Manhattan

NYRR 5th Avenue Mile: The following streets will be closed Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

► Fifth Avenue between 85th and 59th streets

► Grand Army Plaza between 60th and 59th streets

Broadway Autumn Fair: The following streets will be closed Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

► Broadway Between Waverly Place and 14th Street

Brazilian American Cultural Street Festival: The following streets will be closed Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

► Sixth Avenue between 42nd and 56th streets

► 46th Street between Madison and Seventh avenues

New York Fashion Week Set-up: The following streets will be closed at times from Saturday through Thursday, Sept. 8.

Clarkson Square:

► West Side Highway between Spring and West Houston streets

► Washington Street between Spring and West Houston streets

► Greenwich Street between Spring and Clarkson streets

► West Houston Street between West and Greenwich streets

Moynihan Station:

► 31st Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues

► 33rd Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues

► Ninth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets

► Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets

► 30th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues

Stone Street Pedestrian Mall: The following streets will be closed through Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

► Stone Street between Hanover Square and Broad Street

► Mill Lane between Stone and William streets

Little Italy Pedestrian Mall: The following streets will be closed starting Friday through Sunday, Sept. 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

► Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome streets

► Hester Street between Mott and Baxter streets

Various streets and highway lanes will be closed in Manhattan for crane operations and street repairs. You can see the breakdown on the Department of Transportation's website.

There will also be lane closures on city bridges for repair work.

Brooklyn

West Indian Children’s Day Parade: The following streets will be closed Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Formation: St. Johns Place between Kingston and Brooklyn avenues

Route:

► St. Johns Place between Kingston and Franklin avenues

► Franklin Avenue between St. Johns Place and President Street

► President Street between Franklin and Washington avenues

Dispersal: President Street between Classon and Washington avenues

J’Ouvert Parade: These streets will be closed Monday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Formation: Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway between Washington Avenue and Plaza Street East

Route:

► Flatbush Avenue between Grand Army Plaza-East Drive and Empire Boulevard

► Empire Boulevard between Flatbush and Nostrand avenues

► Nostrand Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Midwood Street

Dispersal: Nostrand Avenue between Midwood Street and Rutland Road

Viewing Stands:

► Empire Boulevard between McKeever Place and Bedford Avenue

► Empire Boulevard between Bedford and Rogers avenues

► Nostrand Avenue between Sterling Street and Lefferts Avenue

► Buffalo Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Rutland Road

► Rochester Avenue between East New York and Sterling Place

► Ralph Avenue between Eastern Parkway and East New York Avenue

► East New York Avenue between Howard and Utica avenues

► Eastern Parkway between Howard Avenue and Grand Army Plaza

► Flatbush Avenue between Grand Army Plaza and Caton Avenue

► Ocean Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Parkside Avenue

► Butler Place between Grand Army Plaza and Sterling Place

► St. Johns Place between Underhill Avenue and Grand Army Plaza

► Rockaway Parkway between East New York Avenue and Rutland Road

► Parkside Avenue between Park Circle and Flatbush Avenue

► Bedford Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Empire Boulevard

► Empire Boulevard between Flatbush and Nostrand avenues

► Nostrand Avenue between Empire and Linden boulevards

► Lincoln Place between Eastern Parkway and East New York Avenue

Queens

30th Avenue Business Association Festival: These streets will be closed Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
