Thief on Bike Swipes Purse From Woman in Snug Harbor, Police Say

LIVINGSTON — A bicycle-riding thief snatched a woman's purse inside the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, police said.

The 70-year-old woman was walking around the park at 1000 Richmond Terrace on Aug. 12 when the suspect rode his bicycle behind her and grabbed her purse at about 11:55 a.m., the NYPD said.

The thief then fled on his bike toward Van Burden Street, police said.

There were no injures reported.

Police described the suspect as between 18 to 20 years old, standing 5-foot-9 with a thin build and long black hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts.
