ASTORIA — A local school earned top scores on the state exams for the second year in a row, according to data analyzed by DNAinfo this week.

The Baccalaureate School for Global Education, located on 36th Avenue near 35th Street, had the best math scores in the city and the second-best scores on the English Language Arts (ELA) exam this year, according to state data.

Just over 99 percent of students at the school, which serves students 7th through 12th grade, passed the state math test, while almost 97 percent passed the ELA exam, data shows. The tests are given each year to students in third to eighth grades.

This isn't the first time students at the Baccalaureate School pulled in stellar test scores — last year, all of its students passed the math exam and 98.1 percent of kids passed English.

The school did not immediately return a call for comment, but its website describes its curriculum as a "rigorous college preparatory course of study" that "provides a world-class educational experience."

Other local schools that did well on the state tests this year include The 30th Avenue School, a citywide gifted and talented school where 92.4 percent of students passed the ELA exam and 95.5 percent passed the math.

The Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Secondary School for Arts and Technology, located in Long Island City, saw 76.1 percent of its students pass the English test and 74.3 percent in math, data shows.
