FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Massive Italian market Eataly is just about ready to launch at 4 World Trade Center.

The 40,000-square-foot space, home to thousands of Italian products — and scores of freshly made food — is slated to open Aug. 11 at noon.

If there's a theme at Eataly's newest location, it's bread, said CEO Nicola Farinetti and co-owner Mario Batali on a press tour of the space Tuesday.

"We break bread with families and friends — and here, we can use bread to talk about different cultures," Farinetti said.

Bread styles from around the world will be freshly baked, with guest bakers and bread experts on hand to guide the process and offer free baking classes on premises. Bakers from Kossar's Bagels and Bialys will be on hand in September, but there's also a host of other hot, crusty bread to enjoy.

There will also be much more than bread at Eataly. Aside from its five restaurants, there are a host of food counters — with an abundance of sandwiches, wine, pizza and coffee — and market space to buy a variety of salumi, cheese and a spread of desserts.

This Eataly will be the first to offer breakfast service and will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

You can also check out a view from one of its restaurants, which overlooks the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. Unlike Flatiron's Eataly, the restaurants are separated from the market area.
