Man Shot After Getting Caught in Crossfire in East Harlem, Police Say

HARLEM — A passerby was shot after getting caught in crossfire in East Harlem, police said.

The 28-year-old man was talking on the phone on East 127th Street, near Fifth Avenue, when gunshots erupted around 1 a.m. Friday, police said.

The man sustained two gunshot wounds to his left thigh before hailing a cab, which he took to Harlem Hospital, police said. The bullets entered and exited the man’s left leg, police said.

Police said one round was fired and two shell casings were found. Nobody had been arrested as of Tuesday.
