QUEENS — A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight Monday in front of a retail building in Rochdale, police said.

John Castro, of Hollis, was found with a stab wound to the chest around 12:20 p.m. near 137-42 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., which houses a Chinese takeout restaurant, pharmacy and hair salon, among other businesses.

Before collapsing, the victim stumbled into the pharmacy, asking its employees to call 911, police said.

Castro was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An employee who answered the phone at the pharmacy Monday declined to comment.

On Tuesday morning, police said that no arrests have been made and the motive behind the fatal stabbing remains unclear.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
