THE BRONX — A man stepped out of a moving cab and lay down on the street before another car fatally hit him and fled the scene, police said.

The 35-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was splayed out on Jerome Avenue, near Macombs Road, about 10 p.m. Tuesday, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The northbound Impala ran over the man, who appeared intoxicated, before fleeing the scene, the spokeswoman said.

He was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center, police said.

The driver who hit him hadn't been located as of Wednesday morning, police said.
