CIVIC CENTER — Mayor Bill de Blasio "never met" his own social media director who abruptly quit and took to Facebook to rant about his time in City Hall, the mayor said on Friday.

DNAinfo New York broke the story Wednesday that Scott Kleinberg quit as the mayor's social media director last week after two months on the job, and then wrote on Facebook that he couldn't stand working with "political hacks plus a boss that just couldn't get it."

After an NYPD graduation ceremony at One Police Plaza on Friday, de Blasio was asked about Kleinberg, and whether the mayor himself was the boss Kleinberg complained about.

“I have no clue," the mayor said. "I never met the guy. I wouldn’t know him from a hole in the wall."

De Blasio also criticized Kleinberg for quitting so quickly and griping about the gig on social media.

"I have no idea what motivates anyone to, that early on in a job, leave the job and then comment publicly — doesn’t seem like much [of] a professional," the mayor said.
