BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A conversation with Mary-Louise Parker and Elvis Costello will give residents a chance to hear the two discuss the art of memoir writing.

Parker, an Emmy and Tony award-winning actress, and Costello, a London-born musician and singer-songwriter, will talk about their respective memoirs, both of which were published last year. The discussion will be moderated by Jason Gots, an editor at the "Big Think" website.

The event, hosted by BookCourt, will take place at Founder's Hall in St. Francis College, located at 180 Remsen St., on Tuesday, July 26 at 7 p.m. It will be free and open to the public.

Parker's memoir "Dear Mr. You," is written as a series of letters to the men who have shaped her life, including a letter to her father, a veteran who died in 2010.

Costello's "Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink" is a 674-page tome on the musician's life and path to fame.

The two will also sign copies of their books bought at the event.
