GRASMERE — A man was mugged by a group of 10 to 13 year old kids outside a Staten Island train station earlier this month, police said.

The 47-year-old man left the Grasmere Staten Island Railway station on June 5 at about 2:30 a.m. when a group of five kids approached him from behind at Giles Place and Clove Road, the NYPD said.

One of the suspects hit the victim in the back of the head with an unknown object then demanded cash, police said.

The man handed over an undetermined amount of cash to the kids, who fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim got a cut on his head from the attack and refused medical attention, a spokeswoman for the NYPD said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
