Score a Studio for $913 a Month in Building near Flatiron With Virtual Golf

FLATIRON — Save on rent and green fees.

Applications are open for below-market-rate apartments in a new doorman building in the Flatiron, with studios available for as little as $913 per month, and amenities like a laundry room and a game room with virtual golf.

There are 58 affordable units up for grabs at 7 W. 21st St., a new, 17-story mixed-use building between Fifth and Sixth avenues, with applications open until Aug. 23.

In addition to a 24-hour doorman, features of the building will include a landscaped garden, a media room, a game room, laundry room, bike parking, and for an additional fee, car parking, according to the NYC Housing Connect website.

The building, which will have a total of 230 residential units, will have retail on the ground floor and entrances on both West 21st and West 22nd streets. It is owned by Friedland Properties and was designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, according to permits filed with the city.

There are 12 studios available for $913 to single applicants making an annual income between $33,640 and $38,100, and 33 one-bedroom apartments available for $980 to singles making between $34,972 and $38,100 or to two-person households making between $34,972 and $43,500.

Twelve two-bedroom apartments at $1,183 per month are up for grabs for two-person households making between $41,966 and $43,500, three-person households making between $41,966 and $48,96 and four-person households making between $41,966 and $54,360.

There is a single three-bedroom apartment at $1,359 per month, which is available to a family of three making between $48,446 and $48,960, a family of four making between $48,446 and $54,360, a five-person household making between $48,446 and $58,740, or a six-person household making between $48,446 and $63,060.

The developer did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but according to New York YIMBY, the building topped out in November and is expected to wrap up sometime this year.
