FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Music, drinks and cornhole are popping in FiDi this summer.
Lower Manhattan's business improvement district organization the Downtown Alliance is bringing weekly "block parties" near Water Street and Coenties Slip that will feature a host of outdoor games and events, along with pop-up beer gardens.
Free-throw competitions, foosball, bocce, ping pong and shuffleboard games, along with some fitness classes, are all on the schedule for the Game On! series, which is set for every Wednesday from July 13 to Aug. 3.
The events run from noon to 8 p.m., with DJs spinning music outside starting at 5 p.m.
“Game On! is a great reason to get outside and celebrate summer,” Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin said.
“We encourage everyone to come out, meet new friends, play a few games and just have fun Downtown.”
This is the third year the Downtown Alliance has organized the Game On! series.
