INWOOD – A man was shot in the foot at a local bar early Sunday morning, police said.

The 27-year-old man was inside Mimosa Café and bar at 263 Sherman Ave. at 3:24 a.m. Sunday when he said he heard gunshots, police said. He ran to the bathroom where he realized he had been shot in the left foot, police said.

The man was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Mimosa Café went before the Community Board 12 in February to renew their liquor license. The 34th Precinct at the time said they were concerned because Mimosa had received many noise and other complaints.

Police said the local precinct, as well as the State Liquor Authority and the fire department, have issued Mimosa several summonses within the past year for excessive noise complaints, after-hours noise, unlicensed security guards, and unauthorized possession of fireworks.

Mimosa Cafe couldn't be reached for comment.
