MIDTOWN — Each episode of This is New York brings you a conversation with a DNAinfo reporter, followed by a story central to their beat.

This week we go to Midtown with former news editor Mathew Katz, who reported on the neighborhood for three years.

During the conversation he mentions some stinky Midtown puddles. You can read more about those here.

Matt also talks about how Midtown food trucks are doing good things. Here are some of his favorites:

DomoTaco — An Asian-fusion taco truck.

Kimchi Taco Truck — Korean BBQ and beyond.

Carl's Steaks —  Ferocious Philly cheesesteaks.

We follow our conversation with Mathew by letting Luna Khan, a legendary Voguer, take us through an evening at the iconic Times Square Club Escuelita.

Khan hosts Vogue Knights, a weekly party and dance off that is the epicenter of the movement which was thrust into the mainstream culture by Madonna's song Vogue in 1990, and years later remains a vibrant piece of New York's underground nightlife scene.

Escuelita has shut down since DNAinfo's visit, but Vogue Knights has found a new Midtown home at XL Nightclub on 42nd Street.
