MAP: Police Investigate Pattern of 8 Break-Ins at Crown Heights Homes

CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are investigating a pattern of burglaries committed at eight Crown Heights homes within two weeks this month.

All but two of the burglaries took place on Carroll Street between New York and Troy avenues, police said. All eight break-ins happened between June 3 and June 17.

In each of the burglaries, a suspect or suspects entered a home or apartment through a rear door, window or basement accessible by a yard, alley or courtyard. The robbers stole thousands of dollars of property, including electronics, jewelry, clothing, expensive purses and wallets and, in one case, baseball cards.

Police believe most of the burglaries took place in the late afternoon or early evening, between about 4 and 6 p.m.

The above map shows the locations and dates of each of the eight burglaries and attempted burglaries identified in the June break-in pattern by NYPD.

In one case on June 16 at a house on Carroll Street between Brooklyn and New York avenues, the suspects left empty-handed after trying to get into a rear door of the building. Police said the door was damaged, but nothing inside the home was disturbed or stolen.

No suspects have yet been identified in the pattern, police said.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is encouraged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or the 71st Precinct at (718) 735-0511.
