HARLEM — A local restaurant is hosting a music benefit to raise funds for Harlem Pride and honor the victims of the Orlando shooting.

Peque, a Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar at 231 W. 145th St., is holding the two-night event featuring LGBT musicians from around the city who will be performing live in support of the group, which advocates for the local LGBT community.

The music benefit starts June 22 and ends June 23. The restaurant will offer $5 Sangrias both nights, with a dollar from each sale going to Harlem Pride.

The shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, earlier this month prompted the fundraiser for the organization. The shooting left 49 people dead and 53 wounded, in the worst mass murder in American history.

“Especially now, in light of the Orlando tragedy, they continue helping populations of youths and LGBT seniors, transgender (persons) and all our community Uptown,” said owner Paul Morejon of the organization.
