BROOKLYN — A jealous boyfriend will be sentenced Thursday for slashing a bus driver’s throat, a Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office spokesman said Wednesday.

Alfredo Perez, 31 slashed bus driver John Browne across his neck on Sept. 13, 2014, at around 10:50 p.m. in Brownsville, according a Brooklyn District Attorney press release from 2014.

Browne was waiting outside his disabled bus near Stone and Hegeman avenues when Perez, who hails from The Bronx, began cursing and hurling accusations.

Perez was arrested four days later, and convicted of felony assault in April, the Brooklyn DA’s Office said.

The District Attorney has asked for the maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.

Browne was not immediately available for an interview, and Perez’s attorney Matthew Cohen declined to comment.
