GRAMERCY — A Fordham University student struck by a car while crossing East 23rd Street last week has died, police said.

Elliott Copeland, 21, was hit by a Toyota Camry as he ran across the street outside the crosswalk on Madison Avenue about 10:20 pm. on June 16, the NYPD said.

Copeland, of Raleigh, N.C., was taken to Bellevue Hospital with severe body trauma. He died of his injuries on Sunday, police said.

The driver of the Camry remained at the scene and was not charged.

Copeland was a senior in Fordham’s business school and had just started an internship at marketing technology firm Tapad, according to the company.

He was also a member of the university's rugby club, according to his LinkedIn page.

On Saturday, Fordham alum Noah Goldstein, who recently graduated from the school’s theater program, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run near the Lincoln Center Campus, according to police and the Fordham Observer. That driver is still at large.

The university did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Copeland's death.
