Brooklyn Book Festival Announces 2016 Lineup

Get ready for the international literati to descend on the hippest borough: the Brooklyn Book Festival dates have been announced.

The events will be held from Sept. 12 to 18 on the campus of St. Francis College and the nearby Brooklyn Historical Society in Brooklyn Heights.

Children's Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 17 with children's authors, including native New York authors and illustrators like Raúl Colón, Mike Curato, and Rita Williams-Garcia participating.

The festival's biggest day is slated for Sept. 18 though events have not yet been announced. Authors from countries all over the world, including Mexico, Cameroon, Chile, Australia and Sri Lanka will be participating. 

Touré, Joyce Carol Oates, Salman Rushdie, Pete Hamill and Tyehimba Jess are expected to participate. 

According to a press release on the Brooklyn Book Festival's website, this is the largest free literary event in New York City. There will be vendors, panels to discuss literature and opportunities to meet many of the authors.
