NYPD Traffic Agent Arrested for Groping Woman on Subway, Police Say

BROOKLYN — An NYPD traffic agent was arrested Tuesday, more than six months after he groped a woman on an R train in Coney Island, police said.

David Cronin, 58, was off-duty and riding the train when he grabbed the woman on Dec. 28, according to NYPD officials and court records.

He was arrested Tuesday about 3 p.m., NYPD officials said.

Cronin faces charges of sexual abuse, harassment and forcible touching, records show.

An NYPD spokeswoman said she did not know how long Cronin worked for the department.

It also wasn't immediately clear why an R train was in Coney Island when it normally terminates in Bay Ridge.
