HUDSON HEIGHTS — A man was struck and killed by a 1 train in an apparent suicide at the 181st Street station Friday afternoon, NYPD said.

The victim was struck by a southbound train at 12:25 p.m., the MTA said.

Emergency responders arrived a short time later, but the person was already deceased, according to a spokesman for FDNY.

Sources told DNAinfo New York that witnesses saw the man — who appeared to be in his 20s — jump from the end of the platform right before the train came.

Further information about the man's identity was not immediately available.

Train service was restored at 2:32 p.m. after it had been suspended in both directions from 137 St-City College to Van Cortlandt Park-242 St earlier in the afternoon, the MTA said.
