EAST ELMHURST — A man was beaten with a tire iron and cane, and stabbed with a knife while walking with his girlfriend on 32nd Avenue last week, police said.

The 24-year-old victim and a woman were near the corner of 74th Street and 32nd Avenue at around 8:20 p.m. on May 19 when he was approached by four men, according to the NYPD.

The suspects — who covered their faces with white masks or T-shirts — stabbed the victim with a knife, and hit him over the head with a tire iron and cane, police said. They fled east on 32nd Avenue.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, officials said. His girlfriend was not injured.

Police officials said the suspects do not appear to be gang-affiliated, although a police source said the victim is affiliated with the local Latin Kings group.

All of the suspects are between 16- and 24-years-old, and stand between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8, police said.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a black sweater with white graphics on the front, jeans and white sneakers. The second suspect was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, jeans and red sneakers. The third suspected was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants. The final suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans.
