Man Attempted to Rape Woman in Park Slope Early Sunday, Police Say

BROOKLYN — A man tried to rape a woman in Park Slope early Sunday morning, according to the NYPD.

The 21-year-old woman was walking on Second Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues on May 22 at about 4:30 a.m. when the man approached her from behind.

He then groped her, pushed her to the ground, pulled off her underwear, and attempted to rape her, police said.

The woman was able to fight off her attacker and yell for help, police said.

The man then fled in a dark-colored Acura sedan.

He is described as 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and 170 to 180  pounds. He was last seen wearing light-colored shorts and a light-colored shirt.
