WILLIAMSBURG — A pair of passengers assaulted a taxi driver and ran off with his cash, according to police who are now looking for the two suspects.

A man and woman hailed a cab on the corner Morgan and Johnson avenues in Williamsburg, around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning, according to police.

The pair soon started arguing with the 38-year-old driver about the cost of the ride, police said.

Then both the man and woman hit the driver, grabbed his cash and fled the car, according to police.

It wasn't clear exactly how much money was stolen.

Police are asking for help identifying the two suspects who were captured on security camera footage.

Anyone with information can call NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
