SOUTH BRONX — A man was hit in the head with a pipe and pummeled by three suspects in The Bronx on Tuesday, police said.

The attack happened around 9 a.m. by Boston Road and 174th Street, when the 43-year-old victim got into an argument with three younger men, according to the NYPD.

One of the men then took out a pipe and hit the victim in the head with it, and the other two men started punching him after he fell to the ground, police said.

The suspects fled the scene, and the victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment, according to police.

Officers described the first suspect as a man between 16 and 20 years old wearing a black striped t-shirt, camouflaged pants and sneakers, the second suspect as a man between 16 and 20 years old with long hair who walks with a severe limp and was wearing a long sleeved t-shirt, and the third suspect as a man between 16 and 20 years old.

The first suspect took off his shirt during the fight, police said.
