MIDWOOD — A bicyclist died in a four-car pile-up in Brooklyn on Monday night, according to officials.

The unidentified biker was hit after a 2012 Honda Accord ran a red light and collided into three other cars at the intersection of Avenue P and East 12th Street around 10 p.m., police said.

The Accord, which was traveling west on Avenue P, rammed into a 2015 Infiniti Q50, traveling south on East 12th Street, and both cars careened into the crosswalk.

The two cars struck the cyclist as well as a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2014 Lexus ES350, both parked on Ave. P, police said.

Police found the cyclist lying in the street with trauma to his head and body. He was taken to Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver who ran the red light suffered chest pains and was taken to Lutheran Hospital. He was later taken into police custody and charges are pending, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing.
