CHELSEA — Four bicycles valued at nearly $9,000 were stolen from two waterfront spots within blocks of each other on the same day, police said.

Three people told police they locked their bikes to a bike rack at the entrance to Pier 66, at West 26th Street just past12th Avenue, around 2 p.m. Saturday before heading to the Frying Pan at the pier.

When they left the bar at 3 p.m., they discovered their bikes and bike locks were gone, police said.

A 53-year-old man lost a $1,500 Trek 2.1 road bike, a 56-year-old woman lost a $3,000 Kuota bike and a man of unknown age lost his $4,000 Opus bicycle, the NYPD said.

That same day, a 24-year-old man told police he locked his $400 bicycle and an orange helmet to a bike rack at West 23rd Street near 12th Avenue around 11 a.m. When he returned at about 6 p.m., the bike was gone, police said.

There was no video surveillance at either location, the NYPD said.

The four bicycles were valued at a total of $8,900, police said.
