EAST WILLIAMSBURG — A robber snuck up behind his victim, held the man in a chokehold until he passed out, then stole his cash, wallet and phone, according to police.

The 26-year-old victim regained consciousness near the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and Cook Street in East Williamsburg at around 11:15 p.m. on April 20 and was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, police said.

While the Queens resident was unconscious, the mugger had snatched $200 cash, several cards, his U.S. passport and driver's license, according to police.

The robber is thought to be between 18 and 25 years old and was last seen wearing a black sweater and white pants, officials said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
