CLAREMONT — A man was attacked with a plastic shovel and robbed of $1,300 in The Bronx last week, police said.

The 37-year-old victim was talking with two men at the intersection of E. 173rd Street and Boston Road around 6 a.m. on April 17 when they turned on him and began attacking him with a plastic shovel, according to the NYPD.

The relationship between the victim and his attackers was not immediately clear.

The suspects stole $1,300 from the victim before running away on foot, police said.

Officers described one suspect as a man between 30 and 40 years old, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds and standing between 5-foot-11 and 6 feet tall. They described the second suspect as a man between 20 and 30 years old, weighing between 170 and 200 pounds and standing between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall.

Video shows the two suspects running down the sidewalk after the robbery.
