STATEN ISLAND — A woman thought a 12-year-old boy was playing hockey too loudly so she grabbed his stick and smacked him with it, police said.

The woman, who can be seen in surveillance photos released by police, was near Crispi Lane and overheard the boy playing hockey about 4 p.m. April 13, an NYPD spokesman said.

She thought he was playing too loudly so she grabbed his stick and hit him in the leg, police said.

His leg swelled up and bruised but he didn't need to go to the hospital, police said.

The woman, who is between 35 and 45, fled the scene and hadn't been arrested as of Tuesday morning, police said.

She was last seen wearing a white coat and has a gold iPhone, according to police photos.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
