87-Year-Old Woman Attacked in WaHi Home During Push-in Robbery, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — An 87-year-old woman was attacked and robbed after she answered the door for two men who pushed their way into her home, police said.

The victim answered the door at an apartment on West 164th at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, police said. The two men shoved their way inside, ran into a rear bedroom and pistol-whipped a 21-year-old man on the head, police said.

The duo tied up the man and then took a bag containing approximately $10,000 and fled the scene, police said.

According to police, the victims, who refused medical attention, didn't know the suspects. 

The suspects are believed to be in their mid-20s. One suspect was described as 6-foot tall and 250 pounds, police said. The other suspect is about 5-foot-7-inches tall and 180 pounds.
