NOHO — A lost Israeli tourist napping in the Bleecker Street subway station was slashed in the face by a man who demanded money Friday morning, police said.

The 55-year-old tourist, who only speaks Yiddish, had been trying to get to Brooklyn and was poring over a map when he nodded off in the station near Lafayette Street about 3:30 a.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The assailant, dressed in an orange hoodie, woke him, demanded money and slashed him across the face, hands and arms, police said.

Two passersby saw the bloodied victim and alerted police, officials said.

The Israeli was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspect, who may be homeless, fled and wasn't immediately arrested, police said.

Trains along the 6 line were bypassing Bleecker Street Friday morning while police investigated the slashing, the MTA said.
