LONG ISLAND CITY — It's New York City Beer Week — a nine-day celebration that kicked off Friday and ends on Sunday, Feb. 28.

There's no better place to celebrate than in Long Island City, where the opening of four breweries in recent years has turned the area into a hotspot for locally-sourced suds.

Here are six ways to celebrate Beer Week in the neighborhood:

► Visit All Four LIC Breweries
When: now through Sunday

Take an informal tour of all the neighborhood's breweries: Rockaway Brewing Co., Big Alice Brewing, Transmitter Brewing and LIC Beer Project. Each will be giving out LIC Brewery Passports, and patrons who visit and get their passport stamped at all four spots will be entered to win prizes like T-shirts, growlers and brewery tours. Just drop your completed passport at any location by Feb. 28.

► Learn to Pour a Perfect Pint
When: Wednesday, 6 p.m.

Bierocracy, a European-style beer hall that opened at 12-23 Jackson Ave. this fall, is offering a beer pouring class for $15. Participants will learn three different popular pouring techniques, taught by Bierocracy's bartenders and a cicerone from Pilsner Urquell.

Feast on a Bacon and Beer Dinner
When: Thursday, 7 p.m.

Beer bar Alewife NYC, at 5-14 51st Ave., is teaming up with Black Hog Brewery to host this four-course meal that pairs beers with bacon-centric dishes like a roasted garlic, bacon and spinach rangoon or a candied ginger and peach bacon ice cream for dessert. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.

► Drink for a Good Cause
When: Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m.

Head to Big Alice Brewing at 808 43rd Rd. for a night of "Libations & Donations," where 10 percent of sales and all of the tips the taproom earns will go to V-Day, an organization that works to end violence against women.

► Escape Winter With a Beer-Fueled Beach Party
When: Friday, 7 to 10 p.m.

Rockaway Brewing Co., whose owners got their beer-making starts in its namesake seaside neighborhood, will host a beach party at its Long Island City taproom at 46-01 5th St. The event will feature a seafood pop-up offering dishes like fried shrimp and waffles or crispy calamari tacos, beer and ice cream floats and a DJ spinning beach tunes.

► Take Home a Discounted 6-Pack
When: Monday through Sunday

Hunters Point beer shop Beer Closet, at 5-37 51st Ave., is offering 25 percent off its mix-and-match six packs in celebration of beer week. Choose from more than 300 types of beer, or stay to enjoy a pint from their taps and get free snacks at the bar.
