A crackling fireplace and a strong drink can temporarily transport you to a warmer place — which will be helpful when an estimated 10 inches of snow falls on the city Thursday.

DNAinfo New York has rounded up a handful of fireplace bars in NYC where you can cozy up and ride out the snowstorm:

► Manhattan

The Flatiron Room, 37 W. 26th St., Midtown

Flatiron Room

If the Flatiron Room's fireplace doesn't warm you, its extensive whiskey list certainly will. Spanning from Japan to the United States to Scotland, Flatiron offers patrons flights, tastings or pours of the world's finest whiskeys.

If you'd rather stick to cocktails, the bar offers classics such as the Mint Julep, or seasonal specials like the Oaxaca Express (Mezcal, jalapeno-agave nectar, basil puree, fresh lime juice and Mexican cayenne pepper).

The Drunken Horse, 225 10th Ave., Chelsea

Drunken Horse

This cozy Chelsea bar offers rich, primarily Western European wines to shake the chill out of your bones. If your stomach starts to growl, you can order an array of small plates including cheese and charcuterie, as well as falafel, olives and hummus — perhaps inspired by owner Azman Dayakli's eastern Turkish roots.

Shoolbred's, 197 2nd Ave., East Village

Shoolbreds

Bartenders at this quaint East Village spot serve up an array of body-warming cocktails, including their take on a Bloody Mary (featuring basil garlic vodka, horseradish and Louisiana hot sauce, $13) and classic whiskey drinks like the Rob Roy. Bites like lamb sliders and grilled Gruyere cheese are also available should you plan on staying a while.

Molly's Shebeen, 287 3rd Ave., Gramercy

Molly's

An Irish bar par excellence, this Gramercy pub dishes out pitchers of Guinness as well as bangers and mash — which Yelp users describe as "excellent" — shepherd's pie and, of course, burgers.

► Brooklyn

Brooklyn Buschenschank, 320 Court St., Carroll Gardens

Buschenschank

If you know you want a drink but are unsure what to eat, consider giving Brooklyn Buschenschank a try. Incorporating Italian and German cuisine in its menu offerings — such as white pizza ($13) and spaetzle ($16) — the bar and communal table dining area will satisfy multiple palettes. Bonus: The bar features over 30 German beers.

Black Rabbit, 91 Greenpoint Ave., Greenpoint

Black Rabbit Bar

In addition to a full bar, the Prohibition era-style spot offers patrons board games, small plates (try the bratwurst or the cheese board) and trivia on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Camp, 179 Smith St., Boerum Hill

Camp Bar

Get out of the cold and the city at this log cabin-themed bar. Featuring board games, beer, s'mores and of course a fireplace, the Boerum Hill bar provides all the "camp" of a rural setting smack in the middle of Brooklyn.

► Bronx

Bronx Alehouse, 216 W. 238th St., Kingsbridge

Bronx Alehouse

For craft brews, check out this Kingbridge bar. Featuring everything from Left Hand to the Bronx Brewery brews, guests can also enjoy complimentary popcorn while warming up.

►Queens

Alewife NYC, 5-14 51st Ave., Long Island City

Alewife

Warm your spirit with one of the LIC tavern's 29 draught beers and 20 wines. If climbing the flight of stairs to make it to the second floor fireplace works up your appetite, try the Weiss-Bier mac and cheese ($12), sage truffle fries ($6) or the duck confit poutine ($15).

Daly's Pub, 3186 31st St., Astoria

Daly Pub

The Irish pub will warm your soul with its generous variety of single malt and blend scotches. If Irish beer is more your style, they also offer Guinness and Smithwick's on draft. If you want to start drinking early, you're in luck: happy hour runs daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
