It's almost time to break out the balaclava

WEATHER: Nothing can prepare us for the onslaught of below freezing temperatures this weekend, and today will offer a taste of what's to come. Temperatures will reach a high of 28 degrees, which is positively balmy compared to the high of 19 degrees over the next two days. With the wind-chill factor accounted for, it will feel as it's in single digits, according to Accuweather.

The sun will keep us company this morning, with skies partly sunny, but disappear into the afternoon.

You can expect temperatures to reach a low of 14 degrees, which will feel like -2 degrees, tonight. Some flurries will hit the city while we sleep.

SUBWAYS: There are delays all over the shop this morning.

Due to a signal problem on Rector Street, N and R trains are running with delays. Those lines and the B, D and Q lines are also running with residual delays due to an earlier incident at the DeKalb Ave. stop this morning.

Following an earlier incident at President St., 2, 4 and 5 train service has resumed with residual delays.

Due to signal problems at 125 St, northbound A and D trains are running with delays.

Of course, that's unlikely to last, so check in with the MTA here for updates throughout the morning.

We give today a misery index of 5, because the commute of the miserable commute and heart-shriveling temperatures.
