DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Famed Brooklyn cheesecake shop Junior's is expanding with a new location in South Florida, according to reports.

Owner Alan Rosen signed a lease last week for a 270-seat space at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, according to the Miami New Times.

Rosen, whose family has owned the restaurant since it opened in 1950, told the New Times he’d been looking for the right South Florida location for several years, since his father had moved to Delray Beach.

When a real estate broker reached out to him with the location, he said he knew it was the one immediately.

“I went down to look at it 48 hours later and signed a letter of intent right away,” Rosen told the New Times. “When you know, you know.”

The new spot, which used to be a Ruby Tuesday’s, will feature a full bar, bakery, take-out department and patio, according to the New Times. The menu will be similar to Brooklyn’s, and will include Junior’s iconic cheesecakes, natch.

Rosen is eyeing a second South Florida location in Miami once business takes off in Boca Raton, according to Crain’s New York.
