By Aidan Gardiner | February 10, 2016 8:34am

MANHATTAN — One teen was shot and another pistol-whipped by two muggers while waiting for an elevator in East Harlem on Friday, police said.

The 16- and 19-year-old were standing at the elevator on the sixth floor of the Lexington Avenue apartment building about 8:18 p.m. when the thieves pulled a gun and demanded their belongings, NYPD officials said.

The two young men refused, sparking a fight, police said.

The suspects shot the 16-year-old in the right knee and took his coat, police said. They also pistol-whipped the other young man, police said.

The two victims were treated at an area hospital, police said.

The suspects, who can be seen in surveillance footage released by police, fled the scene and hadn't been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.

Police released footage taken from the lobby of the building showing three men they want to question for the robbery.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
