When superstorms and vortexes are a regular part of the forecast, a cold, partly sunny day weather prediction is rather unexciting, but we'll take it considering what's coming next.

WEATHER: A few passing flurries this morning aren't expected to add up to any snow accumulation. Accuweather predicts that it'll be a partly sunny day with a 40 degree high. But do some extra bundling up for the evening, when an expected "real feel" temperature of 16 degrees arrives around 8 p.m.

An Arctic front's coming in for the rest of the week. Tomorrow's predicted real feel temperature is 11 degrees. So, today's high is as toasty as it's going to get for awhile.

It's going to feel like it's 6 degrees outside by Sunday, coincidentally Valentine's Day, the nadir of winter.

SUBWAYS: A few train lines are having some problems this morning.

At the time of publication, the L train, unsurprisingly, was running with delays in the Canarsie bound direction due to signal problems at the Bushwick-Aberdeen station.

Due to signal problems at Essex St, Broad St-bound J and 71 Av-bound M trains are running with delays.

A sick passenger at the north bound Prince Street stop means northbound N and R trains are running express to 34th Street Herald Square, with expected delays on the northbound Q train as well.

And due to an earlier incident at the West 4th Street station, A trains are running with residual delays.

Because of the encroaching freeze and the various subway issues this morning, today's Misery Index is a bleak No. 5.
