MOTT HAVEN — A suspect robbed a 13-year-old boy of his cell phone inside a Bronx elevator, then threatened to shoot him if he tried to leave, police said.

The teen was followed into a building on Park Avenue and East 153rd Street on Jan. 28 about 6:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

When the two entered the elevator, the 20-year-old suspect snatched the phone from the teen’s pants pocket and told him he’d shoot the boy if he got off when the doors opened. The thief got out on the fourth floor and fled, police said.

The suspect is described as about 20 years old, standing roughly 5-foot-8, and weighing 170 pounds with a dark complexion and brown eyes. He was wearing a green and black coat, blue jeans and black sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
