UNION SQUARE — A towering steel structure with the same rusty hue of another sculpture that went up in Union Square last fall is set to rise on the north side of the park next month.

The latest piece, "Disorder: 9 Uneven Angles," comprises nine intersecting steel beams that create points stretching upward, with the tallest peak reaching 25 feet.

It's expected to be installed in mid-February and displayed in the park through June 22, according to Danielle Mayer, a representative of Paul Kasmin Gallery, which represents the artist in New York.

When it goes up, the sculpture, by French artist Bernar Venet, will be the second large steel structure to appear recently in Union Square with the apparently popular "weathered" look.

"My Circle," a 14-foot steel circle by Brooklyn artist Beverly Pepper, was installed on the east side of Union Square in October 2015 and will remain there until May.

"My Circle," by Beverly Pepper, will stand in the Union Square Triangle through May 2016.

Venet created "Disorder" as part of a recent series called "Angles" that he began in 2015. But he's been creating work that explores similar themes of severe, angular shapes since the 1970s, according to the gallery.

Like Pepper, Venet is a recipient of the International Sculpture Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award. His sculptures have been displayed across Europe and the United States and as far afield as New Zealand.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story misstated how long the "Disorder" sculpture would be on display at the park.
