SOHO — Aby Rosen, one of the city's most powerful developers, will donate a percentage of room revenue from his new hotel at 11 Howard St. to the Global Poverty Project.

The $180 million boutique hotel at the corner of Howard and Lafayette streets is expected to open in March, a representative for Rosen's company, RFR Realty, said.

The deal was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The representative declined to say what the percentage will be, citing an agreement with the charity "not to disclose specifics of the partnership."

The Global Poverty Project's stated mission is to "end extreme poverty by 2030." It has offices in New York, London, Melbourne and Toronto and its "campaigns" consist of two festivals and a fundraising drive for several other charities, according to its website.

Rosen also recently purchased a building just six blocks north of the new hotel, at 350 Lafayette St., which for nearly three decades has been home to one of the city's most highly-praised homeless shelters.

The facility, run by the non-profit Center for Urban Community Services, offers transitional supportive housing to an average of 55 women a year, and has developed a reputation as a "jewel of the city's shelter system."

It serves women with histories of serious mental illness who are in treatment or recovery and are waiting for the city to place them in affordable housing. It holds 43 beds and provides health services as well as shelter.

Rosen tapped architect Annabelle Selldorf to redesign the building into a big-box luxury retail store.

CUCS has yet to secure a lease for a new location.
