JACKSON HEIGHTS — The two-alarm fire that ripped through a home on 85th Street last week was sparked by faulty wiring in the kitchen, according to the FDNY.

The fire broke out in the basement of 34-44 85th St. before 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, according to the FDNY.

It spread to the first floor and was bumped up to a second alarm before being put out by 7:30 p.m.

Fire marshals said the cause was "accidental electrical, caused by wiring in kitchen," according to a tweet from the FDNY.

The fire damaged at least one of the other homes in the row of attached red-brick Garden homes, according to the FDNY.
