MANHATTAN — The Hampton Jitney will begin picking up passengers at two new spots on the Upper East Side beginning this week, the company announced.

The bus line, which shuttles between Manhattan and the East End in Long Island, will begin making stops at East 96th Street and on Lexington Avenue near East 76th Street starting Jan. 7.

In addition, most stops will only be for buses to one of the Jitney's destinations — either the North or South forks — instead of having both buses stop at each pickup point as was the case previously.

The time of departure has also changed for many Long Island-bound trips and can be found on the Jitney's website or by calling the company, according Geoff Lynch, the company's president.

Here's what to expect from the altered Hampton Jitney route in Manhattan:

New Stop: 175 E. 96th St., between Lexington and Third avenues

Passengers going to both the North and South forks will be able to wait in front of the Urgent Care on the north side of the street. But The Hampton Ambassador will not pick up at this location.

Existing stop: 1276 Lexington Ave., between East 86th and 85th streets

Only passengers going to the North Fork will be picked up at this location in front of the Tasti D'Lite on the west side of the street.

New stop: 1086 Lexington Ave., between East 77th and 76th streets

Only passengers going to the South Fork will be picked up at this stop, located in front of Lenox Hill Hospital on the west side of the street.

Existing stop: Lexington Avenue at East 69th Street

Only South Fork-bound passengers will be picked up at this stop, located on the west side of Lexington Avenue between 68th and 69th streets.

Existing stop: Lexington Avenue at East 59th Street

Passengers heading to either the North or South forks can catch the bus at this stop, located between 59th and 60th streets, across the street from Bloomingdale's.

Existing stop: East 44th Street and Third Avenue

Only passengers going to the North Fork will be picked up at this location at the southwest corner of East 44th Street and Third Avenue.

Existing stop: East 40th Street and Third Avenue

Only passengers going to the South Fork will be picked up here at the southwest corner of East 40th Street and Third Avenue.
